5 Days of Gifts!..Day 5 Banana Bread

My last gift idea for the week is the classic banana bread.  I don’t know many people who don’t love banana bread and this recipe is tried and true.  My Mom has been making it as long as I can remember and it’s one of my favorites.  Give this gift to someone you just want to say thank you to.  They will love it.

5 Days of Gifts!..Day 4 Cranberry Orange Infused Vodka

Liquor.  Can’t go wrong with that gift!  Infusing vodka is so easy but sounds super fancy and impressive.  I literally put everything in a jar and shook it before and after work each day!  Start your infusion this weekend and you can have it all ready by Christmas!  Tie on a nice ribbon or make a tag if your up for it and you have a really nice gift for someone!  The cranberries turn the vodka the most gorgeous color and the flavor is excellent!

5 Days of Gifts!..Day 3 Peanut Butter Dog Biscuits

Need a gift for the pup parent in your life?  These dog biscuits are perfect!  They are really simple to make and the doggies just love them.  My dog woofs them down and my parent’s dog loves them too!

If you don’t have a cookie cutter in the shape of a dog bone that’s ok!  You can really make them into any shape you like.  And if you’re really stuck you could even use a pizza wheel and just cut rectangles.  Trust me, the dogs won’t care.  Place a few of these biscuits in a cute holiday baggie and you are all set!

5 Days of Gifts!..Day 2 Sweet and Spicy Nuts

Sweet and Spicy mixed nuts are a favorite snack of mine! They’re so simple to make and so flavorful.  The sweet and spicy combo is crazy delicious.  I like to use mixed nuts for this but feel free to use 4 cups of whichever nuts you like!

These make a really cute gift, packaged in cellophane bags or in a nice candy dish.  Make a big batch and you’ll get several gifts out of it!

5 Days of Gifts!..Day 1 Chocolate Truffles

Christmas is next week! Ah! Are you ready?  Is all your shopping done?  Well, if you need some gift ideas, I am here to help this week.  Each day this week I will post a delicious recipe that will make a great gift!

First up are Chocolate Truffles.  These truffles are insanely good!  They are so rich and have an incredible chocolate flavor. They’re not to sweet thanks to the mix of semi sweet and bitter sweet chocolate.  I also love to make truffles because you can get really creative with the toppings!  Nuts and toasted coconut are my favorite, but you could also roll them in crushed candy canes, raw coconut, any nut really, and if you are really feeling fancy, dip them in melted chocolate to make a hard outer shell!

Package these in a nice tin or in those Christmas cellophane bags and you have yourself a wonderful gift!

Hot Crab Dip

My Mom has been making this dip for as long as I can remember and it is one of my absolute favorites.  Everytime I make this for my friends they just devour it.

You really can’t go wrong with cream cheese and butter.  But if it makes you feel better, I always use low fat cream cheese and its still insanely savory and delicious.

I really like this dip because it can be made a day in advance, put in the fridge, then baked in the oven when its party time.
Try this dip this holiday season.  Your friends and family will love you for it!

Spiked Nog

I absolutely love eggnog, but I know its not everyones favorite.  If you add some booze I bet you might like it though!  I especially like this recipe because its more exciting than the standard eggnog and rum situation.  The Kahlua and RumChata give it a bit more sweetness and flavor.

1 cup eggnog
1 jigger/shot Kahlua
1 shot RumChata
1/2 shot spiced rum
Ground cinnamon and cinnamon stick for garnish (optional)

Makes 2 drinks

Add the eggnog and liquors into a shaker with some ice.  Shake well and pour into 2 glasses. Top with a dash of ground cinnamon and garnish with a cinnamon stick.
