Here’s a great recipe for Breakfast Christmas morning! Frozen puff pastry is such a great product and just takes any dish to the next level. Obviously these classic flavors go perfectly together, you just can’t go wrong with apples and cinnamon. I also like that the apples retain their shape and don’t become absolute mush. These pinwheels have amazing flavor and great texture!
2 Granny Smith Apples, peeled and diced, about 2 cups
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
1 tbsp butter, cut into tiny pieces
1 sheet Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry Sheet, thawed
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
In a large bowl mix together the sugar, flour, and spices.
Position the dough with the long edge towards you. Dip your fingers in a small bowl of water and gently brush a thin layer of water over the surface of the dough.
Take a long side of the dough and gently roll into a log.
