Reindeer Chow

Reindeer chow is a Christmasy take on the classic puppy chow or muddy buddies recipe.  The chow is so easy to make and such a delicious crowd pleaser.  The sweet minty candy cane flavor obviously pairs perfectly with white chocolate (see my last post, Candy Cane Bark, for more on that!) and then only enhanced by the awesome texture of the chex cereal.

The kids will love helping out with this treat and its simple enough for them to do so!  Make this your own by adding in red and green M&M’s or some salty pretzels!  The possibilities are endless, but sure to be delicious!

Ingredients:
12 candy canes
12oz white chocolate melting wafers
5 cups rice chex cereal
1/4 cup powdered sugar

Pulverize the candy canes in a blender.  Try to get most of the candy canes to a fine powder.

In the microwave, melt the chocolate in 30 second increments in a large microwave safe bowl, stirring after each cooking increment.

Add the chex to the chocolate and gently combine until the chex are fully coated.

Pour the crushed candy canes and powdered sugar into a gallon size ziplock bag.  Add in the chocolate coated chex.  Seal the bag, leaving as much air in the bag as possible.

Shake the bag until the chex is totally coated with the candy cane and powdered sugar.

Enjoy!
