Oreo Snowmen

These adorable treats are perfect to bring to the office holiday party or send to school with your kids!  They are cute and whimsical and sure to put a smile on your face!

You’ll need:

Lollipop sticks
Double stuff Oreos
A bag of white chocolate chips or white melting chocolate
Black store-bought icing
Orange tic tacs
Ribbon or string

Start by placing the sticks in the filling of the oreos.

Next, cut some tic tacs in half.  Keep your hands over the candy as you cut down to prevent them from flying everywhere!

Melt the chips over a double boiler.  I find this to be the best method for melting chocolate because it gently melts to prevent burning (common in the microwave) and it will stay melted longer over the hot water.  Setting up a double boiler is very easy.  Fill a medium pot 1/3 full of water and place on the stove.  Once the water is boiling turn it down to simmer and set a glass bowl over the pot (be sure that the bowl is not touching the water).  Pour the chips in the bowl and stir as they melt.
Lay the oreo sticks on a sheet of wax paper.  Spoon and spread the chocolate over the oreos to create an even coat.   Don’t dip the oreo sticks in the chocolate bowl, this seems like the obvious way to accomplish this task, but trust me, its not.  The chocolate is too thick to just dip the oreos into and they will come off the sticks.

Once the oreo is nicely coated stick on a tic tac nose and let the chocolate harden.

When the chocolate is hard, dot on the eyes and mouth of the snowman with the black icing.  The ribbon around the stick is the prefect finishing touch!
